The Memorial Plaque (pictured) was STOLEN from a grave at the Mangawhai Cemetery on or about Anzac Day this year (2024). The plaque commemorates the death of 59939 Private Claude William Moore, Auckland Infantry Regt who died of disease in England on 7 Feb 1918 at the age of 29. Claude had been married just five months when his son, baby Clarence Claude Moore was born. The plaque was positioned on the grave of Pte. Claude Moore’s son and WW2 soldier, 051149 Corporal Clarence Claude Moore.
